Media leadership, experience and expertise
Leaving education with a degree in film and drama and a summer position in a bank, meant I made up a shortlist of one when a film company was looking for a royalty accountant. Twenty years later, I have retained a passion for rights management and royalties and everything in between in the legal, sales and finance areas of media and entertainment. It’s been incredibly rewarding expanding into the broadcast and music industries and then helping companies adapt to working with the newer content platforms in the on-demand and digital space. After sixteen successful and enjoyable years with Counterpoint Systems, I wanted to get back to working directly with clients. Setting up Rogo Scott gave me the opportunity to work in more areas and companies without being limited by the scope of a single software solution or project. I’ve been fortunate to work with over five hundred companies in the past twenty years and have developed a set of leading practices that I hope future clients can benefit from.
My career in the media has included working for companies such as ITV, the English National Opera and Turner Broadcasting (part of Time Warner). I have always worked in the project management and change areas of the business, focusing on either system changes or business efficiency. I enjoy inspiring companies to implement positive change in their business, putting my PRINCE2 and Six Sigma background to good use by developing the tailored approach for each client which I believe is required to ensure their projects have a successful outcome. Prior to moving into the media space I split my time between earning a drama degree at the University of the West of England in Bristol, working for Morrisons Supermarkets and a flourishing television and stage acting career. Naturally, when the time came to dedicate my time on a full time basis, I chose the Area Finance Manager position at Morrisons which kick started my finance and accounting career. I have no regrets.
